I am Freemasonry

I am Freemasonry: I was born in antiquity, in ancient times when men dreamed of God first.

I’ve been tested for centuries, and found to be true.

The ways of the world show the imprint of my feet, and the cathedrals of all nations testify to the skill of my hands. I strive for beauty and symmetry.

In my heart they inhabit the wisdom, strength and courage to those who seek them.

Upon my altars is the Holy Book, and my prayers are directed to Almighty God, my children toil and pray together, without discrimination or discord, in the public square and in the secret chamber.

By signs and symbols I teach the lessons of life and death and the relationship between man and God and Man to Man.

My arms are open for those of legal age and good behavior who seek me by your own free will.

I accept them and teach them how to use my tools in the construction of Men, and from then on, I find the address of your own search of the much desired and so elusive perfection.

I raise the fallen and shelter the sick. I go to the cries of orphans, widows tears, and the pain of the elderly and infirm.

I’m not a church, nor party or school, but my kids carry a full load of responsibility to God, country, others and themselves.

They are free men, defenders of their liberties and alert to avert the danger.

By the end I accompany them as each one undertakes the journey beyond the Valley to the glory of eternal life.

Contemplate the sands contained in the glass and think how small is a single life throughout the eternal universe. I always taught immortality and because I raise up the men from darkness into the light, I am a way of life.
